I've decided to make a from scratch chocolate cake with from scratch buttercream icing. My friend Ashley has attempted the icing as well as my mom but I... have not. Wish me luck!! I'll post pictures. The crazy part? I have the billion ingredients both recipes need. Does that make me a master chef? I think so. I do not, however have cake flour. Simply all-purpose. I read on baking forums that the difference is simply the amount of gluten in each... so I'm hoping all-purpose won't make my cake tough. we will see.
